Where your treasure is…

Note to self,

It’s so easy to strive for more. There are so many things that compete for my attention, and I want to chase them all. I want a house, a child, a better garden, more work, more money, just more… But none of those things will satisfy.

In Matthew 6, Jesus said,

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Matthew 6:19-21

It’s so easy to worry about the things that I do not have. But everything that I can accomplish or obtain on this earth is temporary. If my treasure is in my financial situation, I will serve money instead of God (Mat. 6:24).

If I try to find my identity in things of this world, even good things like marriage and the work I’ve been given to do, but in these things, I will never be satisfied. The only one who can truly satisfy is Jesus. I am not an engineer. I am a Christian who serves my God by practicing engineering.

No matter what I’m doing with my life, I will serve God through it.

About Me

I’m here because I have a hunger for God’s word, and I love to learn more about Him. I wanted to share all of the things I learn in one place so hopefully, I can help build up my sisters in Christ who are going through similar things.
